See Pinks

“When I started to take these pictures, I was often asked if I had altered the colour in some way. Seaweed seems to have an image problem. We all tend to have a stereotype of an ugly brown mass, but forage amongst the piles of dark vegetation and you will find an amazing spectrum of colours, from reds and greens to purples and pinks. This seaweed, Callophyllis laciniata, found on Marazion beach opposite St Michael’s Mount, looked exactly as it appears here – a whole range of pinks enhanced by overlapping fronds.” – Hilary Stock
