Light at Spy House Point

£595

“I love this landmark on the Southwest Coastal path, up on the Warren outside Polperro. The small lighthouse, which is only sixteen feet high, stands in contrast to the wide open sea. Despite its size, the automated light reaches a distance of up to twelve miles. Reuben Oliver was a local magistrate and harbour master who came out to this point whenever he could. Although his sight failed in old age, he continued to make the journey. Balanced on the very edge of the rocks, the building is surrounded by fencing that bears the name ‘Reuben’s Walk’.” – Hilary Stock
