“There is a lovely little harbour amidst the tourist extravaganza of Newquay. As spring unfurls, the whole of Cornwall appears to spruce itself up and get ready for the season. Those boats that have ridden out the winter on shore become the subject of hurried focus as they are cleaned and prepared for their return to the sea. A short window opens when these vessels have their old underwear revealed, prior to being reclothed in vibrant new paint. Each wears its history in these old layers. And there is a pattern and magic to their past.” – Hilary Stock
